Nurturing threatened aquatic species in the Lachlan

A number of reaches of the Upper Lachlan catchment have been identified as hotspots for biodiversity, and are home to a number of threatened species. In 2012-13, the Lachlan CMA has funding support available for projects which will protect or improve the condition of habitats for threatened aquatic species in priority reaches. Example projects could include:Blakney & Jerrawa Creek Sub Catchments

  • protection of existing native vegetation and quality habitat
  • fencing, revegetation, and alternative stock water supply
  • targeted gully erosion control
  • improvements in grazing management

Any landholders in the Blakney Creek and Jerrawa Creek sub-catchments (see map) are eligible to apply. For further information, please contact the Project Manager, Jessica Gough, Cowra  0263419314, or your local Project Staff in Boorowa 02 63851018, and Young 02 63825833.
